What to know before you go
Heading to The Riding of the Bounds?
Here are a few quick, must-know reminders for spectators:
Spectator safety is important - please listen to marshals and wardens, follow their guidance, and keep clear of the route and riders.
Please avoid loud noises or sudden movements near horses - this is especially important if you see a horse with a red tail ribbon, which signals it may be nervous or prone to kicking. Give extra space and approach calmly.
Dog owners, please be courteous: keep pets under close control and away from the route unless otherwise directed.
Parking in town is very limited, especially at Canty’s Bridge. Arrive early and consider walking or using local car parks safely.
Always watch where you step - horses may leave mess on the streets. It’s cleaned promptly, but still good to stay alert.
